After months of planning, organizing and preparing, we finally had the outreach and construction of the maternity ward in Selei village! A total of 25 volunteers joined us from USA , Germany, Australia and Austria for 9 days. For the medical outreach we were joined by “Medical Santo”, “Sanma Provincial Health, and volunteers from USA and Australia. The medical team consisted of two receptionists, four nurses, one doctor, a nurse practitioner and a dentist. Together ,we were  able to provide medical help to over 250 patients. Some of the patients walked over 10 hours to Selei and many came from unreached villages. Our team was able to  diagnose, treat, and prescribe medications.

The main medical concerns were diabetes, hypertension, respiratory infections, viral and bacterial skin infections, pregnancies and a lot of muscle and back pain. The patients with dental concerns would also see the dentist. Once the patients were checked out, they were then invited to the prayer tent, where missionaries prayed for them and shared the Gospel with those who were interested.

Thank you to all who supported this work with finances, time and prayers. Together we archived something we didn’t dare to dream for at the start of our mission here. This is the beginning of our work with the tribes of Espirito Santo, and God led us to the perfect location, out of which we plan to continue to spread the Gospel of the kingdom of Jesus. Please pray with us, that the Lord of the harvest will send out more laborers into this field!
